What this actually does to your Cayenne Turbo / GTS
Even with Porsche Sport Exhaust ticked on the build sheet, the Cayenne is conservative. The V8 cars in particular have far more soundtrack than the firmware lets through.
Open Valve gives the SUV the same exhaust personality it has under WOT in Sport Plus — all of the time, on demand.

The Porsche Cayenne Turbo / GTS valve story
Even with Porsche Sport Exhaust ticked at order, the 9YA/9YB Cayenne is conservative. The V8 cars — Turbo, GTS, Turbo GT — have a properly capable exhaust system underneath them and a valve map that only really opens up under WOT in Sport Plus.
Open Valve pins both rear flaps wide. The 4.0 twin-turbo V8 then runs at full Sport Plus voice across every drive mode. PSE-equipped cars get an extra dimension because the larger valves stay open further.
Install needs a lift — actuators are underbody-accessible. About twenty minutes for a competent tech.
Install — step by step
- 01
Raise the car on a lift. Allow exhaust to cool.

Remove the rear underbody panel.
- 03
Locate both valve actuators on the rear silencer.
- 04
Disconnect 2-pin connectors, plug each module inline.
- 05
Mount module bodies with heat-rated brackets.
- 06
Refit underbody panel.

Pair fob, test.

Porsche Cayenne Turbo / GTS — FAQ
Does it work on Turbo, GTS and Turbo GT?+
Yes — all share actuator hardware. Same kit covers all V8 Cayenne variants.
What about V6 Cayennes?+
V6 Cayenne (S, base) uses different actuator hardware — separate module available.
Will it throw a warning light on the dash?+
No. The module sits in the signal path between the ECU and the actuator motor. The ECU sees a normal actuator response back, so there's nothing to flag. We've shipped thousands of these and not had a single check-engine call linked to the module itself.
Is it reversible?+
Yes, fully. Unplug the module, plug the OEM connectors back into each other, refit the trim — about three minutes' work. There's no permanent change to the car, no part cut, nothing in the ECU. Dealer service visits, MOT, sale to a new owner — pull it out and it's like it was never fitted.
Does it work with an aftermarket exhaust?+
If the aftermarket back-box retains the OEM-pattern valve actuators (most do — Akrapovic, Milltek, IPE, Capristo all run the factory motors), yes. If the system is a straight-through with no valves, there's nothing for the module to override.
Will it affect PDCC, PASM or air suspension?+
No. Suspension and chassis systems read independent sensors. Unaffected.
Is towing affected?+
No. Cayenne braked tow rating is independent of valve position. Tow normally.
