Install guide

Ten minutes, no tools

Most owners fit Open Valve on the drive on a Saturday morning, with a coffee in one hand. There are no fasteners to undo, no wires to cut and no software to flash. If you can plug in a headphone jack, you can do this.

  1. 01

    Pop the boot floor

Lift the boot floor liner and find the connectors going into the exhaust valve actuator(s). Most cars have one or two, mounted near the back-box.

  2. 02

    Unplug the OEM connector

Disconnect the factory plug from each actuator. No tools needed — just the small release tab on the side of the connector.

  3. 03

    Plug Open Valve in line

The Open Valve module has a matching male and female connector. Plug it between the OEM plug and the actuator. There's only one way it fits.

  4. 04

    Tuck the module in

Tape or zip-tie the small module to the chassis or wiring loom, away from anything hot. There's plenty of slack in the harness on every supported car.

  5. 05

    Pair the remote

The remote is pre-paired in the box. If you ever need to re-pair, hold the top button for 5 seconds while the ignition cycles on — you'll see the LED on the module flash green.

  6. 06

    Test it

Start the car, press the top button, listen. Press the bottom button, you're back to factory. Refit the boot floor. You're done.
