The honest pitch
What this actually does to your Corvette
The C7's NPP exhaust is one of GM's best ideas of the decade. It's also got a sleep mode. Open Valve removes that.
Flick the fob, get LS3-era cammed-up rumble at any time of day. Flick it back if you're rolling past the same neighbour for the third time this week.

The Chevrolet Corvette valve story
The C7 Corvette's NPP dual-mode exhaust is one of GM's best ideas of the decade — the touring mode genuinely is quiet, the track mode genuinely is loud. The only problem is the touring mode is on more often than most owners want. Stealth start on cold mornings and part-throttle cruise both default to the quiet pipe routing regardless of drive mode.
Open Valve overrides the NPP solenoid signal. The Stingray, Grand Sport and Z06 then run in full Track mode acoustically all the time, regardless of what the driver mode dial says. LT1 cars get the bassy LS-derived rumble back at idle; LT4-equipped Z06 cars get the supercharger whine and a much fuller V8 voice at any throttle.
Two-module kit, one per bank. Install lives under the rear of the car — needs a lift or jack stands.
We deliberately don't override Stealth start (the morning quiet-start function) because that's a popular feature with HOA-zoned C7 owners. Toggle the fob to ON after Stealth completes its cycle.
Install — step by step
- 01
Raise the car on jack stands or a lift. Allow the exhaust to cool.
- 02
Locate both NPP valve solenoid connectors on the rear silencer, either side of the centreline.
- 03
Disconnect each, plug module inline.
- 04
Velcro module bodies to the chassis rail.
- 05
Refit any displaced underbody trim.
- 06
Pair fob, test on idle.
In the box
- Two valve override modules (one per actuator)
- Two-button RF key fob (CR2032 pre-installed, spare in the box)
- OEM-pattern connectors — no cutting, no splicing, no scotch-locks
- Printed install card with model-specific photos and a workshop QR link
Fitment notes
- ·C7 (2014–2019) with NPP dual-mode exhaust option only.
- ·Base C7 Stingray without NPP not compatible.
- ·C8 Stingray uses different hardware — separate module in development.
Chevrolet Corvette — FAQ
Does it work on all C7 variants — Stingray, Grand Sport, Z06, ZR1?+
Yes. Stingray with NPP option, Grand Sport, Z06 and ZR1 all share the same dual-mode valve hardware. Same kit.
What about base C7 without NPP?+
Base C7 Stingray without the NPP option has a fixed back-box and no flap. There's nothing for the module to override.
Will it throw a warning light on the dash?+
No. The module sits in the signal path between the ECU and the actuator motor. The ECU sees a normal actuator response back, so there's nothing to flag. We've shipped thousands of these and not had a single check-engine call linked to the module itself.
Is it reversible?+
Yes, fully. Unplug the module, plug the OEM connectors back into each other, refit the trim — about three minutes' work. There's no permanent change to the car, no part cut, nothing in the ECU. Dealer service visits, MOT, sale to a new owner — pull it out and it's like it was never fitted.
Does it work with an aftermarket exhaust?+
If the aftermarket back-box retains the OEM-pattern valve actuators (most do — Akrapovic, Milltek, IPE, Capristo all run the factory motors), yes. If the system is a straight-through with no valves, there's nothing for the module to override.
Does it interfere with Stealth start?+
No — Stealth still works on cold morning starts. The module can be left in OFF state until you're clear of the neighbourhood, then flipped to ON.
Will GM MDI / dealer diagnostics see anything?+
No. Module is electrically transparent.
