Fully reversible
The honest pitch
What this actually does to your RSQ8 / SQ7 / SQ8
The RSQ8 shares its drivetrain with the Urus and shares about 80% of its valve map with the family Q7. Result: enormous V8, very little volume.
This puts the V8 noise back on the menu without an aftermarket back-box, ESD pipe or remap.

Long read
The Audi RSQ8 / SQ7 / SQ8 valve story
The RSQ8 shares its drivetrain with the Urus and its valve programming with the Q7. Result: 600+ horsepower and the acoustic personality of a school-run SUV at part throttle. The 4.0 TFSI V8 only really shows up in Dynamic mode under load, and even then the rear flaps spend more time shut than open during a normal commute.
Open Valve pins both rear flaps open. The RSQ8 then runs in full Urus voice across every drive mode. The SQ7 V8 TFSI and SQ8 V8 TFSI share the same actuator hardware and connector — same kit covers all three.
Install needs a lift — the actuators are underbody-accessible only. Workshop time around twenty-five minutes.
Install — step by step
- 01
Raise the car on a four-post lift.
- 02
Remove the rear underbody panel (six T30 torx).
- 03
Locate both valve actuator motors on the rear silencer.
- 04
Disconnect each 2-pin connector. Plug each module inline.
- 05
Mount module bodies to chassis rail with supplied heat-rated brackets.
- 06
Refit underbody panel.
- 07
Pair fob, test.
In the box
- Two valve override modules (one per actuator)
- Two-button RF key fob (CR2032 pre-installed, spare in the box)
- OEM-pattern connectors — no cutting, no splicing, no scotch-locks
- Printed install card with model-specific photos and a workshop QR link
Fitment notes
- ·RSQ8 (2020+), SQ7 V8 TFSI (2020+), SQ8 V8 TFSI (2020+) — all supported.
- ·Diesel V8 TDI versions of SQ7/SQ8 use a different actuator.
- ·Compatible with Akrapovic valved back-boxes using OEM actuators.
Audi RSQ8 / SQ7 / SQ8 — FAQ
Does it work on SQ7 and SQ8?+
Yes — V8 TFSI SQ7 and SQ8 share the actuator hardware. Same kit.
What about the diesel SQ7 / SQ8?+
Diesel V8 TDI cars use different actuator hardware — separate module available, contact us.
Will it throw a warning light on the dash?+
No. The module sits in the signal path between the ECU and the actuator motor. The ECU sees a normal actuator response back, so there's nothing to flag. We've shipped thousands of these and not had a single check-engine call linked to the module itself.
Is it reversible?+
Yes, fully. Unplug the module, plug the OEM connectors back into each other, refit the trim — about three minutes' work. There's no permanent change to the car, no part cut, nothing in the ECU. Dealer service visits, MOT, sale to a new owner — pull it out and it's like it was never fitted.
Does it work with an aftermarket exhaust?+
If the aftermarket back-box retains the OEM-pattern valve actuators (most do — Akrapovic, Milltek, IPE, Capristo all run the factory motors), yes. If the system is a straight-through with no valves, there's nothing for the module to override.
Will it affect adaptive air suspension?+
No. Air suspension reads load and ride-height sensors. Unaffected by valve position.
Does it interfere with the optional rear-axle steering?+
No. Rear-axle steer is electronically controlled from speed and steering angle sensors. Independent of exhaust.
